MILLSTONE – The Township Committee has extended the term of Millstone Township’s acting business administrator until the end of the year.
On Aug. 7, committee members passed a resolution to extend the term of Acting Business Administrator Roger Staib through Dec. 31.
Staib was appointed to the position on Jan. 30 following the retirement of Maria Dellasala, who was Millstone’s municipal clerk and township administrator. Staib’s term was previously extended through Aug. 1 and will now be in effect for the remainder of the year.
Dellasala’s retirement from both positions was announced on Jan. 30. She was named township administrator in 2014. Her retirement from that position became effective Jan. 30. Dellasala was named municipal clerk in 2005. Her retirement from that position became effective June 1.
Staib has been a resident of Millstone since 1987. He served on the Township Committee from 1995-97.
According to the municipal website, the Department of Administration carries out the laws and policies enacted by the Township Committee, and encompasses the Office of the Administrator, Municipal Clerk and Finance Department.
The administrator directs and coordinates all departments and serves as the township personnel officer. By ordinance, the administrator is responsible to the Township Committee for the day-to-day operation of the township.
The business administrator also negotiates for the township in all collective bargaining agreements with municipal employees, prepares the annual operating and capital budgets, oversees capital projects, and works closely with the township engineer, according to the website.
