Based on outcomes of the spring 2019 Advanced Placement tests, 76 Holmdel High School students have been recognized as Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars by The College Board.
The AP Scholar Awards recognize high school students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement on AP exams, according to the school district.
“These results are a tribute to the efforts of our students as well as those of our AP teachers and speak to the high quality of teaching and learning that is synonymous with our school district,” said Superintendent Dr. Robert McGarry.
Of the 76 recognized students, 27 students achieved AP Scholar status, which means they earned scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
Another 17 students were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor after earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams, according to the district.
Finally, 39 students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction for earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and earned scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams, according to the district.
Seven of these Scholars with Distinction also earned the title “National AP Scholar” and received an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and earned scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams, according to the district.
