Manalapan Police Beat, Sept. 4

The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents occurred in the municipality:

• On Aug. 9 at 11 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Citation Lane to investigate a report of a burglary. A resident told the officers that sometime between 10:20 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., an unknown individual gained entry to the residence through an unlocked window and removed cash and jewelry. Citation Lane is in a residential development off Woodward Road.

• On Aug. 10 at 5:17 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Whirlaway Road to investigate a report of a burglary. A resident told the officers that sometime between 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 5 p.m. Aug. 10, an unknown individual gained entry to the residence through an unlocked window and removed cash and jewelry. Whirlaway Road is in a residential development off Woodward Road.

• On Aug. 13 at 5:11 p.m., officers responded to a business on Route 9 to investigate a report of a theft. An employee told the officers that at about 4:20 p.m., a former employee arrived at the business to retrieve his tools. The individual then removed various tools belonging to the business and fled the area.

• On Aug. 7 at 10:37 a.m., a Manalapan resident reported an incident of fraud. The resident told police that at 1 p.m. Aug. 6 he missed a call on his cell phone. He called back and spoke to an individual who said he was a representative from the Social Security Administration. The individual requested the resident’s Social Security number, which the resident provided. The individual then threatened to send police to arrest the resident if he did not provide his personal banking information. The resident complied with the request to provide his personal banking information and later discovered he had been scammed.
