Cheers to BH90210
for redefining revivals in the zippiest, wittiest way. Part soap, part spoof and all we wanted from a reunion, Fox’s hit featuring the original 90210-ers (picured) as embellished versions of themselves is a sharp and smart love letter to the old show and their late pal Luke Perry. Megaburgers at the Peach Pit for everyone!
Jeers to Netflix
for burying Mindhunter. Given the heaps of praise Season 1 garnered, it’s a mystery as to why the streaming service dropped the much-anticipated Season 2 of its stellar drama starring Jonathan Groff (pictured), Holt McCallany and Anna Torv as serial-killer profilers on August 16 with so little fanfare. Way to murder the buzz.
Jeers to NCIS
for not locking in Cote de Pablo full-time. Bringing back Ziva for three measley episodes this season just isn’t enough, folks. She was one of the most important characters of the show and it hasn’t been the same since she left, so how about you make like Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and get the job done?
Cheers to 13 Reasons Why
for shifting gears. While wildly absurd at times, Netflix’s afterschool-special of teen soaps earns points for trying to shake up Season 3 with a tricky mystery about the murder of rapist Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice) and a terrifyingly necessary lesson in toxic masculinity.
