Children’s mental health will be focus of event

On  Oct. 3, the Monmouth County Schools Partnership for Wellness (MCSPW) will host its first mental health and wellness symposium at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. in the Student Life Center. It is open to the public, but is specifically designed to provide parents and guardians of school-age children with information and resources that are available in Monmouth County to support child and adolescent mental health and wellness, according to a press release.

MCSPW is a volunteer consortium of public school districts created to promote mental health and well-being for school community members.

Through collaboration with member districts, the partnership strives to enhance awareness regarding mental health and well-being topics, cultivate empathy for individuals who struggle with mental health conditions, and engage school community members in this important work, according to the press release.

During the event, parents and guardians will be able to speak with mental health service representatives who provide services in Monmouth County.
