NCIS: Los Angeles returns to CBS

CBS will premiere season 11 of NCIS: Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. In the new season opening episode, “Let Fate Decide,” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) work with Navy Capt. Harmon Rabb, Jr. (guest star David James Elliott) to apprehend spies aboard the USS Allegiance. Also, Hetty (Linda Hunt) partners with Marine Lt. Col. Sarah “Mac” Mackenzie (guest star Catherine Bell) to neutralize a missile attack in the Middle East, and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) are trapped in a mobile CIA unit in Iraq while under attack by ISIS.

Aidan Turner returns to PBS as the heroic Ross Poldark for a final season of the drama Poldark, premiering Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. ET (check your local listings). Also returning are Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza and Jack Farthing as George Warleggan. In this initial season five episode, the Poldarks look forward to life together in peace, but a plea from Ned Depard compels Ross to return to the capital. Back in Cornwall, Demelza encounters a new opponent. George struggles to engage with the world after Elizabeth’s death. In the second episode, airing October 6, Demelza and the children become caught in a dangerous web. George pursues the fruits of his new alliance, but his grief has unexpected consequences. Dwight’s expertise on insanity and honorable intentions places him and his friends on shaky ground.

ABC will premiere the new season of The Rookie on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Six months into his career as a cop, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), the oldest rookie in the LAPD, has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior. But as he embarks on the second half of his rookie year, Nolan will be put to the test by a host of new challenges, romantic relationships and deadly criminals, as he looks to figure out what kind of cop he ultimately wants to be. The series also stars Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Titus Makin Jr. as Jackson West, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen and Eric Winter as Tim Bradford.
