ABERDEEN – Livoti’s Old World Market in the Aberdeen Town Square Center used a day of community spirit in Aberdeen Township to thank its patrons for their business year round.
“My way of giving back to my customers is appreciation day,” owner John Livoti Sr. said during the 10th year of the celebration on Sept. 28.
“The township calls it ‘Aberdeen Day,’ but we call it ‘Customer Appreciation Day.’ It’s our way of giving back to the community one time each year for all the weeks (customers) come in and shop, choosing us over other food vendors,” he said.
Livoti’s opened its location on Route 34 in Aberdeen in 2010 after Livoti said he believed “the neighborhood needed this type of business.”
Subsequent locations in Marlboro opened in 2014 and in Middletown in 2018.
On Sept. 28, about 200 patrons enjoyed the autumn weather while sampling the market’s specialty foods and beverages. Several patrons could be seen dancing to Italian folk music.
“This is typical for our turnouts here,” Livoti said. “Our customers truly appreciate the day we give them.”
