Preschoolers at The Learning Experience make wishes come true

EDISON – It was children helping children at its best as the preschoolers at The Learning Experience kicked off the 2019 Bubbles Road to Wishes campaign in an effort to help make wishes come true for children battling critical illnesses.

The fundraiser, happening at the educational childcare center’s 60-plus locations across New Jersey, officially began with a special event at The Learning Experience on Woodbridge Avenue in Edison on Oct. 1 with more than 100 preschoolers, Bubbles the Elephant, The Learning Experience mascot, and several Make-A-Wish children and families from New Jersey.

During the kickoff, preschool philanthropy ambassadors presented superhero capes to the Make-A-Wish children and attendees made donations on a “Wish Wall” and left lasting, colorful hand impressions.

“At The Learning Experience, one of the biggest life lessons that we are committed to teaching children is the concept of making a difference in the lives of others through the practice of philanthropy, ” said Brad Wahl, senior vice president at The Learning Experience. “While this is a continuous subject in our schools, we are excited to dedicate the entire month of October to highlight philanthropy through the Bubbles’ Road To Wishes fundraiser in all of our schools nationwide. Children get to go on an educational journey with Bubbles the Elephant across the country, sharing the good news of philanthropy and raising money for Make-A-Wish to grant as many wishes as possible to deserving kids.”

The donations raised at The Learning Experience’s in New Jersey will go directly to the closest Make-A-Wish chapter. Make-A-Wish New Jersey is headquartered at the Samuel and Josephine Plumeri Wishing Place in Monroe Township.

“The Learning Experience and Make-A-Wish are both committed to making a difference in the lives of children,” said Holly Thomas, vice president of corporate alliances at Make-A-Wish America. “The Bubbles’ Road to Wishes campaign demonstrates the powerful impact companies have when leveraging their communities for social good. Because of their efforts, more kids and their families will experience the life-affirming power of a wish.”

During last year’s Bubbles’ Road to Wishes campaign, the Edison center raised $18,000 of the $122,000 overall raised in New Jersey. The center’s in the state led the way in nationwide donations – $374,000 – to grant wishes for Make-A-Wish kids.

The fundraiser is part of The Learning Experience’s philanthropy curriculum which continuously teaches children the value of kindness, sharing, and giving back.
