SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Maher Drive was dedicated at the intersection of New Road and Hastings Road on Oct. 19. Henry “Harry” Maher was born in January 1928 in Plainfield. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II and he was reactivated to serve during the Korean War, where he received two Bronze Stars while serving in Korea. He also received World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Upon retirement from The Jersey Mortgage Company, Maher served South Brunswick as a park ranger for more than 26 years. He was also a member of VFW Post 9111 and American Legion Post 401.
