Area municipal and school board election results

Voters in Allentown, Millstone Township and Upper Freehold Township went to the polls on Nov. 5 and elected members of the governing body in their respective municipalities.

The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website. All of the election results are unofficial and will remain unofficial until a vote counting process that could take more than a week has been completed.

The totals as of Nov. 6 do not include late mail-in ballots and provisional ballots, which are expected to be tallied later this week.

Allentown

In the race for mayor, independent candidate Thomas Fritts and independent candidate Gregory Westfall squared off in their pursuit of the four-year term. As of Nov. 6, Westfall, who is seeking his second term as mayor, trails Fritts, who is the current president of the Borough Council. Fritts has 412 votes and Westfall has 332 votes.

In the race for two three-year terms on the Borough Council, independent candidates Martha Johnson and Daniel Payson are leading as of Nov. 6. Johnson has 359 votes and Payson has 345 votes. Independent candidate Tom Braunworth has 343 votes and incumbent Democrat Rob Schmitt has 316 votes.

Millstone Township

Running unopposed for one three-year term on the Township Committee in Millstone Township, incumbent Republican Al Ferro was elected and will begin serving his first full term in January. Ferro has received 1,341 votes as of Nov. 6.

Upper Freehold Township

Running unopposed for two three-year terms on the Township Committee in Upper Freehold Township, incumbents Republicans LoriSue Mount and Stanley Moslowski Jr. were re-elected. Moslowski has received 1,180 votes and Mount has received 1,126 votes as of Nov. 6.

Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education

No candidates filed nominating petitions to run for three three-year terms on the Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education.

In the final weeks prior to Election Day, Shannon Pulaski, Amrita Singh and Mark McLafferty announced they were running for the board as write-in candidates.

According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, 788 write-in votes were cast in the Millstone school board election on Nov. 5. However, as of Nov. 6, election officials have not reported who received the write-in votes, nor how many votes any individual has received.

Upper Freehold Regional School District Board of Education

In the Upper Freehold Regional School District, incumbent board member Wil Borkowski ran unopposed for a three-year term representing Allentown. Borkowski has received 486 votes as of Nov. 6 and has won election.

Christine Ciccarone and Vanessa DePompo ran unopposed for two three-year terms representing Upper Freehold Township on the board. DePompo has received 879 votes and Ciccarone has received 863 votes as of Nov. 6 and have won election.
