No recommendations have been made in the 2018 municipal audit of Englishtown.
During a recent meeting of the Borough Council, members of the governing body passed a resolution and adopted the 2018 audit. Under state law, the governing body of every municipality must have an annual audit of its books, accounts and financial transactions.
By passing the resolution, the council certified to the state’s Local Finance Board that all members of the governing body had reviewed, as a minimum, the sections of the annual audit entitled General Comments and Recommendations.
The audit was conducted by Holman Frenia Allison, P.C. A presentation on the audit was provided by Robert Allison, a representative of the firm, at the meeting.
In other business, the council authorized services in the amount of $13,363 from the Monmouth County Public Works and Engineering Department. The services will consist of vehicle repairs and maintenance to Dodge Charger sedans for the Englishtown Police Department.
And, council members authorized services from Bako Construction, Totowa, for asbestos abatement at a property on Tennent Avenue. The cost of the work was $3,850.
