Caregivers for people with dementia will be able learn about common experiences when Artis Senior Living of Princeton Junction is the host to a program with Rebekah Wilson.
Wilson returns to Artis Senior Living for her program, “Sharing Holiday Time When Living With Dementia.”
According to officials, the program is intended to reach out to those caring for a loved one with dementia and focus on unique considerations for sharing holiday time with patients who have dementia.
Topics will include identifying safety concerns to avoid potential problems and the importance of adjusting expectations during holiday celebrations.
The program will be from 12-2 p.m. on Dec. 4 at 861 Alexander Road in Princeton and will begin with a complimentary lunch. Caregivers will have the opportunity for questions and answers at the conclusion of the program.
Wilson is a dementia care specialist, trainer and the owner of Aging Care Coach, LLC. She has 14 years of experience in elder care services including hospice, home health care, assisted living and care management.
In these areas, she has used her specialties in teaching, community outreach, marketing and developing innovative strategies for providing comfort care for seniors and their care partners. She has presented at local, state and national conferences as a trainer on Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, behavior management, navigating transitions and other caregiving topics, according to officials.
As a care coach and care manager, Wilson serves as a dementia care consultant, mentoring care partners in developing individualized non-pharmacological interventions and innovative care solutions.
Wilson has devoted her career to improving quality of life for seniors and supporting those involved in their care, according to officials.
