There will be a special Hillsborough School Board Election on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Residents will have the opportunity to vote for a specific referendum that would allocate $35.4 million in state aid to the district for building repairs. The specific improvements would span across all nine buildings in the Hillsborough district.
The vote comes in the midst of a current contract dispute with the Hillsborough Education Association (HEA). The ongoing dispute began in July when teachers’ former contracts expired.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. through 8 p.m.
Voting districts are consolidated for School Elections. Voters may not be voting in the same location as they normally do for primary and general elections. A list of voting locations for the school election can be found on the township website, at www.hillsborough-nj.org/government/polling/.
Additionally, for this election only, Voting Districts 9, 11, 25 and 27 have been relocated from Woods Road Firehouse to Amsterdam Elementary School.
