MILLSTONE – The Township Committee has awarded a contract for the collection and removal of residential recyclable materials in Millstone Township.
During a recent meeting, committee members awarded a $239,940 contract to Central Jersey Waste & Recycling, Ewing Township. The contract is for 2020, but municipal officials have the option to extend the agreement for up to four additional one-year terms at rates set forth in the bid, according to a resolution.
In other business, committee members appointed Dan Specht, the head of the Department of Public Works, as certified public works manager. Specht will receive a $5,000 increase in salary for the position, effective Jan. 1, which will increase his salary to $33,165 in 2020.
And, the committee appointed James Maraday as a full-time buildings and grounds maintenance custodian. Maraday’s appointment became effective on Dec. 16 and he will receive an hourly rate of $15 for 40 hours per week.
In addition, committee members amended previous resolutions that appointed Brian Chabarek of Davison, Eastman, Munoz, Paone, PA, the township’s law firm, as the professional labor counsel for 2019. The amended resolution increased the contract price of the legal services from $20,000 to an amount not to exceed $25,000.
Finally, the committee appointed Scott D’Amico as part-time building sub-code official and building inspector at an hourly rate of $41.
