The Monroe Township High School girls’ basketball team continued its fantastic start to the season on Jan. 21.
Monroe on that evening posted a 63-33 victory over East Brunswick High School in East Brunswick.
The victory lifted Monroe’s record to 11-1.
“I’m really proud of how the girls have been playing,” said Monroe coach Leigh Vogtman. “All very coachable kids. They have really good team chemistry and work well together on the court.”
Monroe’s leading scorer, Madison Carey, was nothing but stellar again on the court for the Falcons, scoring a game-high 23 points (four three-pointers).
Monroe hit a total of eight three-pointers in the contest.
Senior Brielle Fitzpatrick scored 11 points in the victory for Monroe, while teammate Nina Branchizio recorded 10 points.
