Bordentown Township police reported they responded to a recent incident at a hotel on Route 130 to check on a woman who was reported to have suffered a self-inflicted stab wound.
Police said that on Jan. 23 at 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the Holiday Day Inn Express at 195 Route 130 for a well-being check on a 64-year-old woman.
Police said the woman had previously been reported missing in Robbinsville and family members were concerned for her welfare.
Bordentown and Robbinsville police officers identified the room in which the woman was staying and attempted to make contact with her, but while speaking to her from outside the room the officers heard the woman collapse and immediately entered the room to render aid, according to police.
Once inside the hotel room, the officers observed injuries to the woman’s neck, which were determined to have been self-inflicted by a knife, police said.
Bordentown EMS and paramedics treated the woman at the scene and transported her to the Capital Health Trauma Center.
The woman is currently being treated for her self-inflicted wounds.
