“We are excited to be presenting ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ” Ross said. “It is a classic which has
entertained adults and children alike and is one of my favorite movies. The characters are so memorable. The students are excited to be re-creating the characters using the characters’ idiosyncrasies along with their own interpretations.”
At the heart of the story is the notion that all people seek the qualities they already possess, although those qualities may be hidden, according to the press release.
Ross said the 38 talented cast members in “The Wizard of Oz” have been rehearsing since October and cannot wait to put on three excellent performances.
Edward Reilly and his art scenery students are responsible for set and prop design
and the backstage crew. Following the two Saturday performances, cast members will be available in costume to take pictures with audience members, according to the press release.
