Buoyed by the success of its inaugural showcasing of the local eateries last year, Downtown Hightstown is gearing up for its second annual Restaurant Week.
Hightstown’s Restaurant Week has been set for Feb. 23-29.
The restaurants, scattered throughout Hightstown Borough, will offer discounts or prix fixe meals during the week-long event.
Patrons must mention “restaurant week” before they order, so they can take advantage of the special offerings.
Fernando’s Grille is offering prix fixe meals, while Taco Rito will offer a free dessert choice – fried Oreos, mini doughnuts or churros – on orders that tally more than $25.
The Hightstown Diner and Morgan’s Island Grill are offering 10 percent off dinner. The Tavern on the Lake is offering 10 percent off non-discounted prices.
The 4 Seasons Deli is offering 15 percent off the total bill, and Ralph’s Famous Italian Ice and Ice Cream is giving 10 percent off shakes and smoothies.
The other participating restaurants are Little Key Coffee and 12 Farms.
David Zimet, the owner of Ralph’s Famous Italian Ice and Ice Cream, said he is excited about taking part in Downtown Hightstown’s second annual Restaurant Week.
“We look forward to seeing our hometown friends and to meet new customers that are visiting or who have moved into our community,” Zimet said.
Hightstown Borough Council member Lee Stults said “it is really inspiring” when the town’s businesses come together to elevate Hightstown Borough. The town is a “hidden gem” in Mercer County, he said.
“Our friendly, walkable community not only offers unique, quaint shops in an exciting downtown setting, but also a plethora of eateries that are family- and locally-owned,” Stults said.
“We look forward to people coming out to experience all our town has to offer,” Stults said.
