New Jersey Youth Soccer recently hosted its 32nd annual NJYS Awards Dinner Presented by RWJBarnabas Health, where many players, coaches and members of the soccer community were celebrated at the Pines Manor in Edison.
Among the honorees was the Jackson Soccer Club, which was selected as the 2019 NJYS Recreation Program of the Year, according to a press release.
“The Jackson Soccer Club is honored to be recognized by New Jersey Youth Soccer for our recreation soccer program,” said Roger Vogel, president of Jackson Soccer Club. “We look forward to continue working with other organizations to create environments where all levels of youth soccer players can enjoy the sport.”
The Jackson Soccer Club currently has more than 400 players who participate in its recreation program. Following rapid growth on the recreation side, the club has since created a successful travel program, according to the press release.
Additionally, the Jackson Soccer Club mentors and develops referees, having young referees work alongside veterans so they can fully understand and implement the rules of the game, according to the press release.
An active member of the Jackson community, the club hosts an annual blood drive, food drive and supports Wreaths Across America during the holidays each year.
The Jackson Soccer Club has been a member of New Jersey Youth Soccer since 1972. The club strives to provide a positive and enriching environment within its community while focusing on fun, confidence and development, according to the press release.
