Mardi Gras Sounds to perform in Princeton on Feb. 16

New Orleans inspired music is set to be performed in Princeton, just in time for Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras may take place in New Orleans on Feb. 25, but trumpeter Gordon James and vocalist Carol Selick are bringing those festival sounds early to Princeton with a performance of ‘Mardi Gras Sounds’ at Salon 33 in Princeton on Feb. 16.

According to Salon 33, it is an ongoing series of intimate gatherings for the appreciation of live music and good company.

The performance at 7 p.m. showcases the release of CD ‘Come on Down” that features jazz and blues songs written by James, who is also a vocalist, composer and flugelhorn performer.

The husband and wife duo are set to take the stage with their New Orleans Revue Band. The band features veteran performers on the keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.

According to James and Selick, the performance will be preceded by an optional pot luck dinner at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the duo’s Mardi Gras performance cost $10 and can be purchased at the door.
