Cheers to The Good Place
for ending on a great note. Kristen Bell (pictured), Ted Danson and the entire Soul Squad finally found the meaning of life and moved on in an hourlong episode so sweet and satisfying, it will forever hold a special Place in our hearts.
Jeers to Love is Blind
for dashing that hope. The worst thing about Netflix’s head-scratching take on Married at First Sight, hosted by Vanessa and Nick Lachey (pictured), isn’t that it wants singles to get engaged without ever laying eyes on one another. It’s that some people actually go through with it!
Jeers to Emergence
for pulling the plug on our favorite cyborg. In the ABC freshman drama’s trippy season ender, sexy synthetic life-form Benny (Owain Yeoman, pictured) wound up on the terminal end of nanobot-enhanced baddie Helen (Rowena King) while trying to prevent the destruction of all AIs. Hopefully the show gets renewed…and Benny gets rebooted.
Cheers to Arrow
for hitting the bull’s-eye with its finale. After eight seasons, the superhero hit that begat The CW’s Arrowverse honored fans of Stephen Amell’s flawed vigilante Oliver Queen with a packed hour of cameos, closure and an even greener pasture for Ollie’s best bud, Diggle (David Ramsey).
