MARLBORO – The Marlboro Educational Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization which raises funds in support of innovative opportunities for children in the Marlboro K-8 School District, will host its first “March Madness” NCAA basketball viewing party on March 20.
According to a press release, fans will come to the Marlboro Recreation Community Center dressed in their favorite sports team gear and watch first round NCAA men’s tournament action on a large screen. AJH Entertainment will stream the game and emcee the event.
The event will feature high-end raffle baskets that will include gifts from local restaurants and retailers, and sports memorabilia; and chances to win a 50/50 raffle, according to the press release.
Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring their own drinks (the event is for individuals age 21 and older). In the spirit of competition and fun, attendees may participate in games such as cornhole, washer toss, basketball and ping pong.
“March Madness” co-chairs and trustees Jennifer Silacci and Kelly McDermott have enlisted the partnership of NJ Spine and Wellness, which will be present at the event, according to the press release.
“We are very excited about this great event to support the grants the Marlboro Educational Foundation provides to students. It is so rewarding to see the community come together for such a wonderful cause that gives directly back to the children by providing enriching programs. We hope as many people as possible can join us for this fun evening,” Silacci said.
“March Madness” will be held from 6:30-11 p.m. March 20 at the Marlboro Recreation Community Center. Advance tickets are $45 and include a grand prize ticket raffle.
