JAMESBURG – Due to concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Jamesburg Police Department is implementing changes to its normal daily operations.
Jamesburg officers will be highly visible on patrol within the borough all hours of the day and night, according to a statement released on March 16.
If you or your current household members are displaying signs of illness, including fever, cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, notify police dispatch when you call so that officers and first responders can utilize the proper personal protection equipment when responding.
Officers will request to speak with you outside.
In accordance with recommendations given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, officers have been instructed to keep a 6-foot interview distance from everyone when possible.
For minor calls for service such as thefts, criminal mischief, harassment complaints, etc., an officer may not respond; rather, the officer will contact you by phone to gather information to complete a report. You will receive a reference number along with the officer’s name and badge number for your reference.
All records, firearms and handicapped parking permit requests should be made by telephone only.
Should you wish to file a report for any matter that is not an immediate emergency, call 732-521-0011. Do not come to Jamesburg Police Headquarters.
There is a statewide curfew in New Jersey from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, until further notice.
In case of an immediate emergency, dial 911.
