Monroe reports three new positive COVID-19 cases

MONROE – Monroe officials reported three new positive COVID-19 cases on March 23, which brings the total number in the township to 15, according to the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management.

The three new cases include a 36-year-old female, a 64-year-old female and a 69-year-old female, officials said.

“I continue to stress the importance of staying home to flatten the curve,” Mayor Gerald Tamburro said in the statement. “I also want to warn our residents not to fall victim to scammers who are taking advantage of this health crisis. No reputable agency is calling to ask if you want to be tested. Do not give your credit or debit card to any unsolicited caller – now or ever.”

The COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road, Monroe, is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Pre-registration is required.
