This spring, ABC turns up the romance with its compelling new modern-day fairy tale series, The Baker and the Beauty, premiering Monday, April 13, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series will take viewers on a flavor-filled adventure between relatable everyman Daniel (Victor Rasuk) and international superstar Noa (Nathalie Kelley). Daniel is working in the family bakery and doing everything that his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect him to do. But on a wild Miami night, he meets Noa and his life moves into the spotlight. Will this unlikely couple upend their lives to be together and pull their families into a culture clash?
Emilie Ullerup and Christopher Russell star in Hallmark Channel’s new movie Nature of Love, premiering Saturday, April 18, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Bookish city girl Katie Ryan (Ullerup) gets her big break writing a magazine feature, spending a week incognito at a luxury glamping resort with all the perks. She sets out to face her fears as she tries the camp’s activities, with help from Will Martin (Russell), a rugged outdoorsman renowned for his travel adventures. Sharing a week of adventures, they grow closer. However, Katie can’t help but wonder about Will’s connection with beautiful, outdoorsy Olivia Barry (Erin Boyes), whose family owns the property. It also doesn’t help that Katie must keep her real job a secret from Will. Does Katie risk her growing career to take a chance on love?
PBS will premiere its new miniseries, World on Fire, Sunday, April 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT (check your local listings). The 7-hour series is an adrenalized, emotionally gripping and resonant World War II drama that follows the intertwining fates of ordinary people in five countries as they grapple with the effects of the war on their everyday lives. Set in Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States, it takes place during the first year of the war. Helen Hunt, Sean Bean, Lesley Manville and Jonah Hauer-King head an international cast. On the initial episode, Hitler lights the fuse and the war breaks out. A translator helps his Polish lover flee Warsaw.
