HILLSBOROUGH – As of April 1, there are 40 Hillsborough residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. Nine of those people have reportedly recovered from the virus.
One Hillsborough resident has died from the virus, which was reported last week by Hillsborough Township Health Officer Sophia Spano.
Eighteen cases in the township have been found in people between the ages of 50-69. There have been 10 reported cases for residents under the age of 40, according to the statement.
Five people over the age of 70 in Hillsborough have tested positive for the virus.
Only one child under the age of 10 has tested positive in town, according to the statement.
The Hillsborough Township Health Department continues to monitor all cases and is working with the state to identify any potential contacts for follow-up. A representative from the Hillsborough Township Health Department will reach out to all individuals determined to have been in close contact with the positive testing persons within 24-48 hours of each case being confirmed.
