PBS reveals surprising truths about climate change in the new documentary Climate Change – The Facts, premiering on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, at 8 p.m. ET/PT (check your local listings). Hosted by natural historian Sir David Attenborough this new one-hour special presents evidence of the impact of global warming and examines possible solutions to the crisis. This special brings together leading climate scientists who explain what might happen if global warming increases 1.5 degrees. Also covered are the latest innovations, technology and actions individuals can take to prevent further damage.
NBC’s groundbreaking series Songland is back for a second season beginning on Monday, April 13, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-epsiode series is an authentic peek into the creative process of songwriting and provides undiscovered songwriters the chance to pitch their original creations to top recording artists and a panel of important producers in music, like Ester Dean (Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj), Shane McAnally (three-time Grammy-winning songwriter and producer of Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson and Sam Hunt with over 40 No. 1 country records and two-time ACM Songwriter of the Year) and Ryan Tedder (lead singer of OneRepublic and four-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer of Adele, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Jonas Brothers). The participating songwriters are hoping to create the recording artists’ next big hit songs.
HBO’s new half-hour comedy series Run debuting Sunday, April 12, at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, follows a woman whose humdrum life is thrown upside down when she receives a text from her college sweetheart inviting her to drop everything and meet him in New York to fulfill the pact they made years ago. Starring Emmy winner Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson, the series is a romantic comedic thriller about a woman, Ruby Richardson (Wever), who walks away from her ordinary life in the suburbs to revisit her past with her college boyfriend, Billy Johnson (Gleeson), with whom she promised 17 years prior that if either one of them texted the word “Run” and the other replied with the same, they would meet in Grand Central Station and travel across America together. Recurring guest stars for season one, include Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Rich Sommer, Tamara Podemski and Archie Panjabi.
