Mercer County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 can obtain a drug combination to treat their symptoms through a partnership between Greenhill Pharmacy and East Windsor, Hamilton and Robbinsville townships.
The drug combination of hydroxychloroquine sulfate and the antibiotic Zithromax is being made available to all Mercer County residents whose physician has prescribed it for them, East Windsor Township officials announced.
Greenhill Pharmacy, which is located on Hickory Corner Road in East Windsor, began dispensing the drug combination on April 3. The Federal Drug Administration has issued an emergency-use authorization for the drug combination to treat and mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
The current supply has been allocated to local hospitals, Mercer County residents – regardless whether they have health insurance – and first responders, East Windsor Township officials said.
Greenhill Pharmacy will make arrangements for free delivery of the prescription to the patient or caregiver. The delivery will be made by pharmacy staff or courier in a contact-less manner.
“We are extremely grateful to Greenhill Pharmacy, which has always been a proactive, local, caring company,” East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov said. “Greenhill Pharmacy has once again stepped up as our partner in this vital effort to help our communities at this critical time.”
Mercer County recently opened an appointment-only, drive-through COVID-19 testing center for Mercer County residents who have a prescription for the test from their physician. It is located in a parking lot at the Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrence Township.
