Monroe officials report eight new positive COVID-19 cases, OEM donates PPE for Stop and Shop customers

MONROE – Monroe officials reported eight new positive COVID-19 cases on April 14, bringing the total number of cases to 273, according to the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM).

The age range of the cases are from 34 to 88.

The cases included four males – a 62 year old, a 66 year old, a 70 year old, and an 87 year old, and four females – a 34 year old, a 79 year old, an 85 year old, and an 88 year old.

Monroe Township OEM has issued over 2,000 pieces of personal protective masks to the Monroe Stop and Shop, 1600 Perrineville Road. Patrons can request a face covering at the Courtesy Desk if needed. Workers and visitors in retail establishments are required through Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive order to wear cloth face coverings while on the premises of any retail establishment.

The COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road, will serve pre-registered patients from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and drive-up patients from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Testing resumes on April 16.
