FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Township Committee has awarded a $688,000 contract for work at the administration building in Michael J. Tighe Park, Georgia Road.
During a recent meeting, committee members awarded the contract to EAJ Services for a bathroom addition and alterations to the building. Among other uses, the administration building serves as the meeting location for the Freehold Township Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners.
According to a resolution, EAJ Services was awarded the contract as the lowest bidder on the recommendation of Netta Architects, the township’s professional architect, and Township Engineer Timothy White.
Other bids for the work were submitted by Cypreco Industries ($779,973), BGD Contracting ($798,475) and J.H. Williams Enterprises ($1.1 million), according to a resolution.
In other business, Township Committee members authorized contracts for sports camp director services.
According to a resolution, Kathleen Stefanelli was awarded a contract not to exceed $10,000 for Jersey Intensity Field Hockey; John Sciarappa was awarded a contract not to exceed $8,000 for Patriot Pride Basketball;
And, Brian Golub was awarded two contracts not to exceed $12,000 each for Sharp Shooters Basketball and Patriot Shooters Basketball; John Sciarappa was awarded a contract not to exceed $3,000 for a preseason basketball clinic;
Also, Todd Briggs was awarded three contracts not to exceed $12,000 each for Spring Track and Field, Revolution Running and Cross Country Fall Track and Field.
Finally, the committee authorized a shared services agreement with the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad for vehicle refueling. Under the agreement, the vehicles of the squad will be refueled at the Freehold Township public works yard on Jackson Mills Road.
The Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency services to Freehold Township and Freehold Borough.
