METUCHEN – Metuchen reports one new positive COVID-19 case, which brings the total number of cases to 50, according to Mayor Jonathan Busch on April 21.
“While this information would have seemed unthinkable weeks ago, and we are deeply concerned over every resident who tests positive, there is actually some remarkable hope in that number,” he said.
Busch said during the past few weeks, they have heard extraordinary stories of borough residents who have recovered from the illness.
“We have learned of the many heartwarming efforts by our residents on behalf of their neighbors,” he said. “Whether it be mask making, grocery buying, supporting our downtown businesses, or checking on neighbors, your kindness has often served as an example for other communities.”
The mayor added Metuchenites have been “incredibly compliant with the often overwhelming and difficult rules and laws governing social distancing.
“So much so that as I write this message, we have one of the best ratios of cumulative cases to population in the region,” he said.
