The East Brunswick Public Library is partnering with Princeton Radiation Oncology, Saint Peter’s Breast Center and Regional Cancer Care Associates Central Jersey for a series of Lunch ‘n’ Learn online health programs.
The first presentation is “Cancer During COVID: Breast Cancer” at noon on May 1.
In this multidisciplinary talk conducted virtually, doctors will discuss the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics include an overview of breast cancer, adjustments to screening mammography’s standard guidelines during COVID, adjustments to follow-up (diagnostic) mammography scheduling during COVID, recommendations during COVID for chemotherapy vs. anti-hormonal therapy, recommendations for timing of radiation treatment during COVID, and where breast cancer patients can find mental health support during the outbreak.
This online program is presented by Hiral Patel Fontanilla, MD (radiation oncologist at Princeton Radiation Oncology), Lisa Hopkins, MD (breast surgeon at Saint Peter’s Breast Center) and Ellen Ronnen, MD (medical oncologist at Regional Cancer Care Associates, Central Jersey).
