SOUTH RIVER–The South River Police Department has been notified by the Middlesex County Health Department that 17 additional residents have tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
This brings the total number of cases in South River to 160, according to a prepared statement from the South River Police Department on April 23.
The police department has not been advised if the new cases are isolating at home or hospitalized, according to the statement. To date, the police department has not been notified of any cases having fully recovered.
Due to feedback the police department has received from residents and the fact officials are not receiving information regarding recoveries, home isolations or hospitalizations, the police department’s last daily update will be on April 25, according to the statement.
After that date, the department will provide weekly updates every Saturday, according to police.
Although the department cannot reveal specific locations or areas where positive COVID-19 cases are located, officials can say that cases are evenly distributed throughout the town and there does not seem to be a cluster or hotspot in any one location or area of South River, according to police.
