The Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Restarting Your Business” with Dr. Dale Caldwell, executive director of Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at 12 p.m. on April 29. The presentation is free and online.
Th session will focus on helping local business leaders prepare financially, mentally and emotionally for the restart of their businesses and the economy. Caldwell, an entrepreneur and professor of entrepreneurship at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), will lead the interactive session focused on addressing issues like developing a SWOT analysis, dealing with cash flow challenges, analyzing market opportunities, redesigning networking strategies and using mindfulness to enhance business focus. Participants will leave the one hour session with concrete action steps that will help them restart their businesses.
The COVID-19 economic shutdown has devastated many small businesses and the economy. Although the crisis has demonstrated to federal, state and local leaders how important small businesses are to both employment and the economy, the government programs designed to help small businesses survive have still not reached most local businesses. In spite of the delay in support, there will be tremendous opportunities for businesses to come out of the pandemic in a position to succeed if they know how to restart their businesses.
Following the session, the Metuchen Area Chamber will provide virtual workshops on developing website content, do-it-yourself website creation, Google My Business, and mindfulness.
