The Hillsborough Police Department received a report of a single engine plane crash that occurred in an open field in the 1000 block of Millstone River Road.
The pilot, the sole occupant, had just taken off from Central Jersey Airport before 5 p.m. on July 14, according to information provided by police on July 15.
The pilot, a 64-year-old male from Lebanon Township, was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries by the Robert Wood Johnson Rescue Squad, according to the statement.
The crash is currently under investigation by the FAA.
Responding units to the scene were Hillsborough Township Police Department, Hillsborough Township Fire Units Station 37 and 38, Hillsborough Township Office of Emergency Management, RWJ Rescue Squad, RWJ MICU, Somerset County Hazmat, Manville Police Department and Hillsborough Fire Safety.
