Tropical Storm Isaisas caused closed roadways and many power outages in East Windsor Township.
Police reported several road closures in the wake of the storm on Aug. 4, due to trees or electrical wires that had been knocked down.
Road closures as of 4 p.m. Aug. 5 include:
Old York Road (Route 539) between Windsor-Perrineville Road and Sharon Road (possible live wires down)
Woods Road between Berwick Circle and Perrineville Road (Possible live wires down)
Route 33 between Davison Road and Maxwell Avenue (Transformer/Pole)
Route 571 and One Mile Road (Traffic Signal on Flash)
Residents are advised to never approach downed wires. Call the East Windsor Police Department at 609-448-5678 ext. 0 to report downed wires.
The JCP&L map shows 5,962 out of 11,605 customers affected, or about 51%, as of 3:30 p.m. Aug. 5. JCP&L is unable and/or unwilling to provide any information at all, regarding work or restoration schedule, outage issues, or needed corrective work in East Windsor, according to information provided by the township. JCP&L states the “restoration process will be a multi-day event,” stating they “remain actively working to clear active power lines from fallen trees and replace damaged utility poles before addressing the restoration of residential power lines.”

For customers remaining without power for 24 hours or more, JCP&L is offering free water and ice at the East Windsor Shoprite, 319 Route 130 north.
East Windsor has opened a 24/7 location for residents to charge mobile devices: East Windsor Police/Court Building, 80 One Mile Road.
