NORTH BRUNSWICK – A concerned citizen flagged down a patrol car in the Hartland Commons area of North Brunswick on Sept. 13 due to that fact he observed what he believed to be multiple catalytic converters inside an occupied vehicle.
Patrol officers went to investigate and speak with the occupants of the vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, additional patrol officers checked a nearby parking lot and reportedly discovered multiple vehicles were missing their catalytic converters, according to information provided by the department.
Further investigation led to patrol officers locating 12 catalytic converters, multiple saws/blades, a ski mask and bolt cutters inside the occupied vehicle, according to reports.
A 32-year-old male and a 27-year-old male, both from New Britain, Connecticut, were charged with criminal mischief, theft, possession of burglar tools, receiving stolen property and various drug offenses.
