Titles to be settled during next two Saturday nights at Wall Stadium

WALL TOWNSHIP – Tight championship battles in all six of Wall Stadium Speedway’s race car divisions will be decided as the shore area speedway enters the final two Saturday nights of regular season competition on Oct. 3.

The Modifieds will compete in a 40-lap feature race, while 25-lap main events for the Sportsman racers, Limited Late Models, Factory Stocks, Legend Cars and the 4-Cylinder Stocks are also on the “Ladies Night” agenda. All ladies will enjoy half-price grandstand admission, according to a press release.

Grandstand seating will open on Oct. 3 at 4:30 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:30 p.m. and main event racing will follow at 7 p.m.

The Modified 40-lap main event is important in the race for the 2020 driving crown. Current points leader Andrew Krause of Holmdel and two-time champ Steven Reed of Jackson will lead the chase with Ron Frees of Lanoka Harbor, Eddie McCarthy of Brick Township and Jackson’s Jason Treat all vying for championship spots.

In the Sportsman division, Neil Rutt III of Edison and Manahawkin’s Jake Nelke are among the title contenders, while Bryan O’Shea of Neptune City and Beachwood’s Elliot Wohl are at the top of the Factory Stock standings.

Ryan Maher of Neptune City and Sal Liguori of Hazlet are the top racers in the 4-Cylinder Stocks, while Peter Bruno of Little Silver and Bryan Gardella of Brick Township wrestle for the Legend Cars crown. In the Limited Late Models, Hazlet’s Chris Silvestri is trying to win his second straight title.

Title races in all divisions are still up for grabs with champions being decided on Oct. 10. All six divisions will again see action in the regular season finale..

The northeast outdoor auto racing season will be completed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend with the annual running of the “Turkey Derby.”
