Jeers to ABC
for dumping Stumptown. A favorite from last year’s freshman class, the sly action dramedy starring Cobie Smulders (pictured) as a Portland P.I. was renewed in May then axed last month after production delays stalled its planned fall return. What stumps us is why they just didn’t move it to mid-season. We’d wait!
Jeers to The Boys’ Stormfront
for being so vile we can’t even love to hate her. On Prime Video’s dark satire, the newest member of the twisted team of so-called good guys (Aya Cash, pictured) is so eerie and terrifying that we actually hope she doesn’t survive the season.
Cheers to Woke
for opening folks’ eyes to Lamorne Morris’ acting range. We always knew the New Girl standout (pictured) had killer comedic timing, but his turn as a cartoonist dealing with race, romance and really chatty comic strips in Hulu’s new series allows Morris to draw on the impressive dramatic skills he rarely gets to showcase.
Cheers to E!
for sending Keeping Up With the Kardashians off into the fake sunset. After a slew of spinoffs (and marriages) that didn’t work, it’s time for the celebu-family to hang up their designer handbags and staged dramas with next year’s 20th season.
