Sayreville police officer bids to win motorcycle

SAYREVILLE – Sayreville police officer James Novak is currently in first place in his group to build a motorcycle with Paul Teutul Sr. – which he will then donate to raise money to support his department.

“Riding my dream bike through the Badlands in South Dakota would be amazing, but if I win, I will donate the motorcycle to our auxiliary police. I want to support their organization and their COVID-19 relief efforts. The auxiliary police [is] a volunteer organization that is always there to help our community when needed most,” Novak said in his post on the Dream Chopper website, which is hosting the contest.

Novak, who has been riding motorcycles for 25 years, is currently in charge of the police department’s motorcycle unit.

If he wins, he will join the Orange County Choppers crew on an upcoming episode and receive a feature on the cover of “Cycle Source Magazine.”

“I have been a fan of ‘American Chopper’ (reality TV show) since the very beginning. The motorcycles they have created are nothing short of iconic. My favorite motorcycle from their show, and one I would probably look to for inspiration, is the POWMIA bike,” he said in his post.
