EAST BRUNSWICK—Out of an abundance of caution, the East Brunswick Public Library will close to the public starting Nov. 28.
Even though the building is closed, the library has several different ways to provide public services, according to a prepared statement from the library on Nov. 20.
Customers will be able to check out library items and receive them via curbside pick up. Library customers can continue to return their library materials at any time to the book drops outside of the library. Returned items are quarantined for seven days before they are available to the next customer, according to the statement.
Several library services will be available virtually. Reference questions can be answered by email, telephone, or through the chat box on the library’s website.
The website also features a calendar of virtual events. There are also links to eBooks, movies and other online services, according to the statement.
Passport services are available by appointment only; call 732-390-6761.
The library’s computers, photocopier, scanner and fax machine are also available by appointment by calling 732-390-6767, according to the statement.
