Cheers to The Voice‘s Gwen Stefani
for a champion return. After a short hiatus, the coach came back to her red chair on the NBC hit armed with wit, musical wisdom and what turned out to be a very savvy strategy to snatch her first win with 15-year-old protégé Carter Rubin (pictured, with Stefani).
Cheers to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
for honoring its ancestors. Netflix’s update of the girl we first loved on Sabrina,
the Teenage Witch conjured up original cast members Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea to reprise their roles as aunties Zelda and Hilda (pictured, from left: Miranda Otto, Rhea, Broderick and Lucy Davis). It’s an inspired bit in the final season.
Jeers to Rose Ceremony Overload.
As much as we loved Tayshia Adams’ stint as The Bachelorette, to go from her finale to
Matt James’ (right) Jan. 4 debut on The Bachelor, with only two weeks in between seasons, is too much too soon. We’re not like the contestants; let’s take things a little slower, ABC.
Jeers to the Networks
that didn’t make time for One Day at a Time. There’s room for masked singers and dancers, myriad game show reboots and multiple projects starring Sarah Paulson—but not a single outlet could save the sharp, bighearted representation of Latinx life starring (from left) Rita Moreno and Justina Machado from cancellation?
