North Brunswick Township’s remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. continued over the past week, with the daily COVID-19 briefings including special guests who reflected on service while remembering the life of Dr. King.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Award recipients are Jennifer Quiwa-Sowinski, a counselor with the North Brunswick Township High School (NBTHS) Guidance Office, and Gerardo Cochran, a biology and environmental science teacher at NBTHS.
The Community Award recipient is North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Cafferty.
In addition, two NBTHS seniors were honored, Denton Moreland and Sarah Williams.
Additional guests during the briefings included Bishop David Luckey of Without Walls Church, Bishop Calvin Enlow of New Destiny Family Worship Center), North Brunswick Police Lt. Michael Sauvigne, Fire Chief Ken Graulich from North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, Fire Chief Jeff Dunham from Fire Co. No. 2), 1st Lt. Dave Howarth from Fire Co. No. 3, and First Aid & Rescue Squad Chief Robert “RJ” Robinson.
