SPOTSWOOD–In the latest step to reconstruct the Spotswood’s notable lake, the Borough Council approved a resolution paying $221,970 to SumCo Eco-Contracting LLC for the DeVoe Lake Dredging phase one project.
On Oct. 5, 2020, the borough entered into a $2.2 million contract with SumCo Eco-Contracting, LLC for the dredging of DeVoe Lake, phase one.
Bids were received on Sept. 29, 2020, with SumCo Eco-Contracting of Peabody, Massachusetts, as the lowest and most responsible bidder, with a bid of $1.85 million, according to the council.
The mayor and council received correspondence from CME Associates Engineering, recommending pay estimate No. 1 for work performed by SumCo for a period from Nov. 2, 2020, to Jan. 22, 2021, for phase one, in the amount of $221,970, according to the council.
The council approved the resolution for the pay estimate on Feb. 1 during the council meeting via video conference.
Payment is subject to SumCo Eco-Contracting providing the required certified payroll records and project manning reports for the pay period, according to the council.
