EAST BRUNSWICK – A woman has been charged for fatally striking a man with a tractor-trailer.
Kimberly Holmes, 39, of Port Norris, was charged on March 16 with third-degree causing death or injury while driving with a suspended license.
At approximately 6:12 a.m. March 16, authorities responded to 19A Cottage Lane in East Brunswick following a report of an unconscious male laying on a warehouse loading dock. Upon their arrival, authorities located Uttam Sharma, 43, of Jackson Heights, New York, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department.
An initial investigation conducted by Detective Dennis Chieffo of the East Brunswick Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined Holmes, whose driver’s license had been suspended, struck the victim as she drove up to the loading dock.
