SAYREVILLE – The Sayreville School District Board of Education will put $122,500 toward replacing the boiler at one of the district’s schools.
On March 16, board members passed a resolution appointing Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. and approving an agreement for professional services with the firm. For the professional services, the board will pay $122,500 to Spiezle Architectural Group.
According to the resolution, the professional services are for the boiler replacement at the Jesse Selover School.
Following the professional services agreement, the board approved a $122,500 withdrawal from the district’s capital reserve to fund the boiler replacement project.
In other business, board members passed a resolution appointing Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. and approving an agreement for professional services with the firm for window replacement at the Harry S. Truman Elementary School.
According to the resolution, the board will pay $59,900 for the window replacement project. A withdrawal in that amount was approved by board members to fund the window replacement at Truman.
The board also approved nonpublic security aid funding for the 2020-21 school year in the amount of $12,484. The funding is provided by the vendor Mr. Keys Inc. and is for the St. Stanislaus Kostka School, a private school in Sayreville.
Additionally, board members approved Learning Tree Multicultural/Multilingual Evaluation and Consulting, Inc. to provide bilingual speech, psychological and educational evaluation services, in an amount not to exceed $8,000, for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.
Finally, the board approved a donation from the Attix family in the amount of $1,000. The donation will be used towards the D-Wing staff lounge of the Sayreville Middle School.
“We can’t thank the Attix family enough for that very generous donation of a $1,000, which we’ll use to enhance the environment of our staff members in that faculty lounge,” Superintendent of Schools Richard Labbe said. “On behalf of [Principal Richard] Gluchowski and all of our staff at the middle school, we thank the Attix family.”
