New Jersey Blood Services has been struggling to reach an adequate blood supply following a difficult and snowy winter.
It is currently well below what is needed by area hospitals in New Jersey’s healthcare system. It requires 1,500 donations each day to treat patients ranging from trauma victims to newborn babies and their mothers to cancer patients.
All type of donors are needed.
An emergency blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 4 at Baitul Hadi Mosque, 27 South St., Old Bridge.
Appointments are suggested. For an appointment, visit https://nybc.org/newjerseydrive using sponsor code 70623; or call 800-933-2566.
All donors will receive a $10 gift card.
Eat and drink before.
Bring a donor ID card or ID with name and photo.
There is no waiting period for donors who have received the COVID vaccine, as long as they are feeling well.
