NORTH BRUNSWICK – A four-vehicle collision earlier today on Route 130 left one driver dead.
The incident is still under investigation by our Traffic investigators. This was a four vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Nissan Rogue was traveling along Route 130 north, nearing the intersection with Adams Lane, on April 9.
This vehicle side-swiped a vehicle that was stopped and waiting at the red traffic signal for the turning lane for Adams Lane westbound; then the Rogue rear-ended a delivery style box-truck, pushing that truck into the vehicle that was in front of it, according to information posted on the North Brunswick Police Department’s Facebook page.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue was trapped in the vehicle upon officers’ arrival and was subsequently extricated by the North Brunswick fire and EMS departments.
That driver, identified as 21-year-old Ceidy Antunez of New Brunswick, was pronounced dead at the scene by Robert Wood Johnson Hospital paramedics.
Antunez was alone in the vehicle, and there were no reported injuries to any other involved parties, according to officials.
The cause of Antunez losing control of her vehicle is still to be determined, according to the post.
