Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support, according to a press release.

Benefits of chair yoga include improved flexibility, better concentration and increased strength, all while focusing on linking movements with breathing. As well as a chair, participants are asked to have a blanket, a strap (or man’s tie), and two yoga blocks or thick books.

With more than 25 years of experience in the health and healing field, Glick has 500-ERYT certification with Yoga Alliance, and has undergone training in yoga, therapy and hands-on healing. She is a certified and licensed LMT-NCMT New Jersey Massage Therapist,       providing hands-on treatment and one-on-one yoga therapy, according to the press release.

 

The Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, is planning to reopen the Main Gallery, the Nilson Gallery and the Wonder Wing on June 5. Hours will be Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations will be required to enter the museum, according to a press release.

The Main Gallery opening exhibit is by New Jersey-based artist Arlene Mollow and the Nilson Gallery opening exhibit is by Ne Jersey Emerging Artist Natalia Pas.

The museum directors said they are launching a new system with timed entry and online reservations, as well as digital memberships. Museum members will be receiving an email with additional details, according to the press release.

In an effort to keep visitors and staff members as safe as possible, the museum has installed an iWave air purifier in the facility’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Steps have been taken to upgrade the bathrooms, and auto/touchless features and sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the museum, according to the press release.

 

New Jersey American Water has announced its grant recipients through the company’s 2021 Environmental Grant Program.

This year, the company has awarded a total of $38,241 to four organizations and community groups in its service area that are engaged in sustainability projects to improve water source protection or watershed protection, according to a press release from the company.

The Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, was awarded $10,000 for the purchase and installation of an Aquaponics tank, which combines aquaculture and hydroponics. The tank grows fish and
plants together in one symbiotic ecosystem.

The Aquaponics tank will educate museum visitors about ways to create sustainable environments to prevent harmful runoff and practices that can negatively impact their local watershed, according to the press release.
