Middlesex County’s Outdoor Guide features dozens of COVID-19-friendly activities

Middlesex County’s Outdoor Guide brings together a wide range of COVID-19-friendly outdoor activities such as wooded hiking trails, scenic bike routes, fishing hotspots, the best places to spot seasonal birds, and more.

“Outdoor spaces have been essential throughout the COVID-19 pandemic with many finding a new appreciation for parks and open spaces. With over 6,300 acres of parks and conservation areas to safely gather with friends and family, Middlesex County is a great place to celebrate life’s special moments, take a pause, heal, connect with essential community services, and so much more,” County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios said in the statement. “To keep these places safe and healthy for everyone, we encourage residents and visitors to follow current health guidelines, practice physical social distancing, and the use of masks is strongly encouraged.”

With hundreds of acres of green parks, historic towns, and picturesque farmlands, Middlesex County provides residents and visitors a wealth of opportunities for socially distanced fun, according to the statement.

Practice skills of observation with Middlesex County’s free printable Nature Bingo cards coming soon to the Outdoor Guide page. This fun family activity is the perfect way to observe the seasonal changes when exploring outdoors, according to information provided by the county. Print as many cards as needed to play with family or friends, and see who can be the first to find all the items in a row, column, or corner to corner.
